V cut bits machine V-shaped grooves, bevels, chamfers, lettering details, and decorative lines. The groove width increases as the bit cuts deeper.
The available angles are 60, 90, 120, and 150 degrees. A smaller included angle creates a narrower groove at the same cutting depth.
The V cut bits use a 6 mm shank and are available with 22 mm or 32 mm cutting diameters.
Match the included angle to the required groove or chamfer geometry. For V-carved lettering, the angle, cutting depth, and character width must be selected together.
A pointed V bit normally creates an angled groove rather than a flat bottom. A flat-bottom router bit is required when the design specifies a level base.
Use a rigid setup, secure the workpiece, keep the bit sharp, and select feed rate, spindle speed, and depth per pass for the specific material. Test the toolpath on scrap before machining the finished panel.
